How do I know if I need colonic irrigation?
But beyond that, our modern lifestyle has also taken its toll on our digestive and elimination organs. Refined, processed, low-fiber foods, trans fats, lack of exercise, and ever-increasing levels of stress, all contribute to our poor digestion and our nation’s current gastrointestinal health crisis. However, when normal by-products and pollutants can be eliminated from the body, there is no problem. When the pollutants build up faster than they can be eliminated, or when the elimination systems are underactive, these articles accumulate and create the necessary preconditions for problems in the body.
What can I expect during a colonic?
Relax because… nothing is fast…. The water… slowly flows in, the waste… slowly releases out. Everything easily goes down the tube… to the sewage pipe, never to be seen again. The air is fresh and clean.
The client lies restfully, always fully covered and discreet. Protection beneath provides much confidence.
Our treatment room was especially designed to be beautiful and relaxing. Clean, warm and professional. Softly lighted with soft music.
It all begins with time spent receiving instructions and education. When the client is ready and willing, there is a brief ‘personal moment’ … since the client, with instructions, will gently introduce a short lubricated speculum (similar to a tampon) to the rectum. This small but important act allows the therapist to begin the session with the filtered, temperature-controlled water.
(Of course FDA-approved sterile ‘single use’ equipment is used and properly disposed of after.)

What should I eat during a series of colonics?
Dos: Eat foods that are alive! Not processed. This is so your digestive system can absorb the nutrients from your food. Eat plenty of vegetables, salads, soups, fruit, whole grains, fiber and pure water. A cleansing diet before a colonic, or during a series of colonics, will help the elimination process, as well. Our Naturopathic Doctor will be glad to create a plan for you.
Don’ts: Anything processed, sugars, wheats (including breads and pastas), pasteurized dairy, alcohol, trans fats, and fast foods. If you are having symptoms of any kind, please remember… Foods that are are hard to digest create disturbance and stress to the digestive system, causing improper function and absorption.
